NTMA, PMA and AMT, with support from SME and NAM, are holding a re-shoring Purchasing Fair in Irvine, CA on May 12, 2010 to help custoemrs and bring jobs back to the U.S.. See https://www.ntma.org/eweb/dynamicpage.aspx?webcode=RSPF . Large companies will bring out work that is now off-shored. Hundreds of attending U.S. shops will then bid on the work.
The benefits of re-shoring for the customers include: shorter supply chain, reduced IP and regulatory risk, closer cooperation of engineering and manufacturing, overall lower Total Cost of Ownership.
